Dental Treatment and COVID-19

Dear Patients,

On 25th March 2020 Sara Hurley (Chief Dental Officer England) and Matt Neligan (Director of Primary Care and System transformation) released their latest statement on the rapidly developing COVID-19 pandemic.

We would like to update you on how this will affect our service provision at Dentalcare Group. The guidance is clear that all routine, non-urgent dental care, including orthodontic treatments must be deferred until advised otherwise. We are still here to support you and your dental needs through this unprecedented time.

We want to take this opportunity to reassure all our patients that we take the spread of the COVID-19 in the UK very seriously. The health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors to our dental practice is our main priority.

Here at Dentalcare Group we will be providing all our patients with a remote service during normal working hours. Our dentists will perform telephone triaging for: advice; analgesia; and antimicrobials (if appropriate) . We will not be able to see you at the practice.

If it is not possible to manage your symptoms remotely, you will have to be referred to a Local Urgent Dental Care Centre. Details of these are currently being established in our area and we will update you as soon as we have further information.

We will use our best professional judgement in the triaging process and work collaboratively with our Local Urgent Care system, possibly volunteering our expertise where necessary to help meet the demands imposed on this new emergency service.

Cosmetic dental treatments at Dentalcare Trowbridge

At Dentalcare Trowbridge we have different cosmetic dental treatments that will change the appearance of your teeth to give you a brilliant new smile. We recommend booking a consultation with one of our cosmetic dentists to find out which treatment or combination of treatments best suit you.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is perhaps one of our most popular cosmetic dental treatments. Bright, white teeth look stunning and can make you feel happier and more confident too. We offer professional teeth whitening which can be carried out either at our dental surgery or in the convenience of your own home. All treatments are safe and painless.

Dental Veneers

Veneers can be used to disguise a variety of problems with your teeth. Made from thin strips of porcelain, they are placed on to the front of your teeth and can be used to cover up heavy staining, chips and cracks. They can also hide unwanted gaps in your teeth and help to make small teeth look longer. As they sit over your existing teeth, they provide strength, giving an extra layer of protection. Dental veneers are popular with our patients as they can usually be fitted in one appointment time and are painless. This treatment is a quick and easy way to instantly update your smile.

White Fillings

If you have a cavity in your tooth, you will need a filling to repair it and to protect the health of your adjacent teeth. Fillings are made from either an amalgam of metals or you can opt for white fillings which is made from a special composite material. White fillings are popular as they are matched to the colour of your other teeth and so become invisible in your mouth. You may have a filling, but you will still have a natural looking smile.

Dental bonding

If you want to change the shape and colour of your teeth, dental bonding can help. Bonding uses a resin which is matched to the colour of your teeth to change the appearance. It can be applied to your teeth to help small teeth appear bigger, close up unwanted gaps and to make teeth more uniform in appearance. Dental bonding is affordable and unlike other cosmetic dental treatments can be reversed or modified at a later date if you change your mind.
